Cake Decorating 3 Ways

Angel Food Cake – $16
Materials
– 2 store-bought Angel food cakes (bundt style)
– 16 oz. frosting
– 3 lemons (or strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, etc.)
– 1 sandwich bag
– 5 – 6 Gerber Daisies or Florals of your choice
– Powdered sugar
Directions 
1. Slice bundt cakes horizontal.
2. Use bottom half of 1 of the cakes as a base layer.
3. Fill the sandwich bag with frosting, cut off tip of the bag and pipe a thick layer of frosting on the top side of the cake.
4. Layer with sliced and peeled lemon rounds.
5. Repeat 3 times and top with final half.
6. Dust with powdered sugar.
7. Decorate with florals and viola!
**Remove florals before serving 
 
Donut Topper Rosette Cake – $25
 
Materials
– 1 9″ round frosted store-bought cake
– 32 oz. white frosting (or 2 16 oz. containers)
– Yellow food coloring
– Rosette piping tip
– White sprinkles
– 3 powdered donuts
– 2 mini frosted cakes
– 1 sandwich bag
– Powdered sugar (optional)
Directions
1. Place cake on a raised surface for easy piping.
2. Cut tip off sandwich bag and insert rosette piping tip.
3. Mix 8 oz. of frosting with a 4-5 drops of yellow food coloring until it becomes a darker yellow or light orange. Fill mixed frosting into piping bag.
4. Start at base of cake and start adding rosettes horizontally. Continue until frosting in bag nearly runs out. Roughly 2 rows.
5. Mix 8 oz. of frosting with 1-2 drops of yellow food coloring. Mixed color should be a light pastel yellow. Fill mixed frosting into the same piping bag (you want the darker yellow/orange to mix with the pastel yellow).
6. Continue rosettes until frosting nearly runs out. Roughly 2-3 rows.
7. Add another 8 oz. of the white frosting to the same piping bag.
8. Continue rosettes until cake is covered
9. Top cake with mini frosted donuts and halved mini frosted cakes.
10. Top with white sprinkles and powdered sugar… stand back and enjoy your work of art!
Kids Safari Cake – $22
– 1 9″ round frosted store-bought cake
– 16 oz. white frosting
– Green food coloring
– Brown food coloring
– 3 – 5 Myrtle Branches
– 2 sandwich bags
– Safari life cut outs or figurines
– Halved cardboard rounds or some sort of straight edge
Directions
1. Place cake on a raised surface for easy piping.
2. Add green food coloring to 8 oz. of frosting and cut off tip of bag.
3. Pipe green frosting in straight horizontal lines on various sections of sides and top of cake.
4. Add brown food coloring to 8 oz. of frosting and cut off tip of bag.
5. Pipe brown frosting in straight horizontal lines on remaining sections of sides and top of cake.
6. Take cardboard round and smooth out frosting on sides and top giving it a light blended look.
7. Place 3″ Myrtle branch sections around base of cake. Add figurines and Myrtle twigs to top of cake and viola!
**Remove myrtle branches before serving.
