Make your space sparkle and shine with these super simple DIY glitter balloons — three steps are all it takes to get your place party-ready.
Time: 5 minutes
Difficulty: Easy
Materials:
- 12″ latex balloons
- Helium tank (optional)
- Curling ribbon
- Scissors
- Double-sided tape
- Extra-fine glitter
- Newspaper (optional)
- Painter’s tape (optional)
- Thumbtacks (optional)
Directions:
Step 1: Using a helium tank, blow up each balloon, tie off the end and attach a 4-foot piece of curling ribbon. Curl the ribbon tail with scissors. No helium? No problem. You can blow up balloons manually, then hang them upside down from the ceiling using painter’s tape or thumbtacks — just don’t attach any ribbon.
Step 2: Create a design on your balloon using pieces of double-sided tape.
Step 3: Lay down several pieces of newspaper (or take your balloon outside) then sprinkle glitter over each balloon, one by one. Shake off excess and repeat. Note: The more glitter you use, the more it will weigh down the balloon.
