Upgrade basic balloons with this simple four-step DIY for a cute and colorful addition to any birthday, baby shower or Valentine’s Day party.
Time: 10 minutes
Difficulty: Easy
Materials:
- Plastic water or soda bottle (or funnel)
- Scissors
- Clear latex balloons
- Confetti
- Helium tank (optional)
- Curling ribbon
- Painter’s tape (optional)
- Thumbtacks (optional)
Directions:
Step 1: Cut the top of a plastic water or soda bottle to make a funnel.
Step 2: Carefully attach a clear latex balloon to the base of your funnel. Funnel a handful of confetti into the balloon.
Step 3: Using your funnel, add a handful of confetti to the balloon. Tip: Stretch and tap the balloon to help distribute the confetti.
Step 4: Remove the funnel and carefully blow up balloon using a helium tank. Tie off the end and attach a 4-foot piece of curling ribbon, then curl the ribbon tail with scissors. No helium? No problem. You can manually blow up your balloons and hang them from the ceiling using painter’s tape or thumbtacks — just don’t attach any ribbon.
