Valentine's Day Party Guide

Valentine’s Day Party Decorations

Share the love with a pink-and-red tissue paper tassel garland, then create an “XOXO” banner out of cardstock and layer the banner on top of the tassel garland.

Cluster candles and fresh flowers (we chose white gerber daisies, red roses, pink carnations and hydrangeas) on your table for pretty yet inexpensive decorations. Keep it gender neutral with simple black-and-white striped paper napkins and black and white plastic plates. For the finishing touch, add sparkle to the evening with our easy-to-make DIY glitter and DIY confetti balloons.

Or take a trip back in time with a kid-friendly classic like Jenga. Bonus points if you paint your set in Valentine’s colors (we used acrylic paint).

Valentine’s Day Party Food

Set out a simple spread of cheese and crackers, berries and nuts. To prepare a crowd-pleasing cheese plate, go with a variety of textures and flavors. Include at least one hard cheese (like manchego), a soft cheese (like brie) and a blue cheese so there’s something for everyone, and serve with plain or rosemary water crackers. Set out a separate knife for each kind of cheese. Here, we topped a round of brie with pomegranate seeds and piled marcona almonds in the center of our cheese board.

Don’t forget the sweet treats. Stick to the theme with pink cupcakes (store-bought or homemade) on decorative cake stands to show them off.
