End the year on a sweet note by hosting a decadent chocolate and Champagne holiday open house party. Live it up with these tips, brought to you by Lindt.
Sips and Sweets
Display desserts center stage on a decorative sips and sweets table. Make or buy mini cupcakes and other treats and showcase them on tiered cake stands to add height to your table. Top each cupcake with a truffle (like the Lindt Gourmet Truffles shown here) to give them an extra special finishing touch.
Fill glass vases with chocolate-covered truffles wrapped in shiny foil (these are Lindt LINDOR Truffles) so guests can help themselves.
For sips, break out the bubbly. Fill vintage coupes with Champagne or sparkling wine and stack them to create a glam drinks tower. Or make a showy Champagne fountain by stacking them on a tray, making sure the bottoms of the glasses on the upper tiers cover the spaces between glasses on the tier beneath, then pouring the bubbly until it fills all the glasses.
You can also offer a selection of mix-ins, such as grapefruit juice, and festive garnishes including rosemary sprigs and ruby red pomegranate seeds.
Decorations
Make your scene sparkle by hanging a glittering gold-circle banner on the wall and scattering silver and gold confetti circles on your table. Evergreen garlands and red flowers provide a cheery nod to the season.
Open house-style parties allow guests to come and go, so you can invite a big crowd even if your space is small.
Set out wrapped chocolates, such as these Lindt LINDOR chocolates, on your coffee table so guests can enjoy truffles as they chit-chat.
Activities
Incorporate a simple gift exchange by asking each guest to bring a favorite item under $25 (such as a beloved book, cozy scarf, or — in keeping with the theme — bottle of bubbly or box of chocolates); they can then choose another box from the pile when they leave.
