This year, Evite has teamed up with 7UP, Canada Dry and NABISCO to bring you a Glitter & Gold-themed New Year’s Eve party to start the year off right! Get together with friends and family this New Year’s Eve to say goodbye to 2017 and celebrate the exciting adventures to come.
At Evite, we’re no stranger to holiday parties and we know just how busy the holiday season can be for busy families. That’s why we love this Glitter & Gold party so much. Everything we purchased for the party is from Target – the food, the drinks and the décor – which means you’ll get to spend less time running around from store to store and more time being present for the party. Because that’s really what the holidays are all about – making new holiday memories and celebrating with friends and family in the easiest and most creative ways possible. Save yourself the time and the stress by picking up everything you need at your nearest Target store.

The Theme: There’s no better time than New Year’s Eve to throw a Glitter & Gold party! Plus, who doesn’t love a good excuse to add a little glitz and glam to their life? We incorporated the theme of “Glitter & Gold” into all parts of the party, including food, drinks and décor. To bring out the theme of Glitter & Gold in the food and drinks, we incorporated gold accents throughout our food and drink stations, like gold drink stirrers, gold ice buckets, gold-rimmed cocktail glasses and gold glitter Prosecco bottles. Pro-tip: We love setting up different “stations” at our parties to encourage guests to interact with each other and move around the room. It helps give your guests something to do and keeps a consistent flow of guests coming and going. For this party, we set up two stations: one for sips and one for snacks.

The Sips: One of our favorite tips for serving cocktails at parties when you have lots of guests is to make them in big batches. Not only does it make it easier for guests to serve themselves (and prevents you from playing bartender in the kitchen all night), it also helps cut down on budget. Plus, designating a bar cart for beverages gives your guests a place to mix and mingle (people tend to gather around the food and drinks). This simple 7UP New Year Sparkle cocktail is a fun and festive holiday sip to serve to your guests. Mix up a batch in a pitcher before the party starts and garnish with fresh mint and frozen cranberries.

If you want to avoid a party faux pas, stock the bottom of the bar cart with extra 7UP and Prosecco so you’re ready when it’s time for a refill and won’t be in danger of running out. To go along with our Glitter & Gold theme, we covered our Prosecco bottle with gold craft glitter using spray adhesive. We’re all about DIYs at Evite because they’re a fun way to add personality to your party and make it feel like you. Even if you’re a beginner and you’re just getting started doing your own DIY projects, like these sparkly gold bottles are fun and easy to make for New Year’s Eve. Just make sure to do it in a well-ventilated area.

The Snack: No holiday party would be complete without a festive holiday snack! If we’re being honest here, that’s what we always look forward to most about our own holiday parties. Who’s with us?! We love these Black-and-White Golden OREO® Cookie Pops for our Glitter & Gold party. They’re a sweet little snack, made with just 3 ingredients AND you can serve them on a stick making it easy for guests to grab them and go talk to other guests. Plus, is it just us, or is everything more fun when you can eat it on a stick?

The Décor: When it comes to New Year’s Eve, you can’t go wrong with the classic black, white, and gold color scheme, but we opted to add a pop of red and some greenery to tie in traditional holiday colors.

We also gave a subtle nod to the theme at each of our stations. For our sips bar cart, we included signs that read “Shine On” to add a hint of glitter and gold in the background. If you want to make a similar sign for your party, all you need is a simple white frame, white poster board, and gold glitter letter stickers (which you can get at Target!).

For our snack station, we included another sign that read “Stay Gold” to speak to the “gold” part of the Glitter & Gold theme. For this one, we just used a budget-friendly gold frame, white poster board, and gold sticker letters.

We also love creating backdrops for the main section of our parties where guests will be spending most of their time. Not only does it create a central place for guests to come together, but it makes for a great photo backdrop as well (and if there’s one thing Evite loves, it’s a good photo booth backdrop!). We had so much fun creating this simple “champagne bubble” balloon backdrop. We first taped a mylar champagne bottle balloon to the wall using painter’s tape, then we blew up a bunch of white, clear, and gold balloons in different sizes (no helium required), and taped them to the wall using painter’s tape to mimic bubbles.

Every good photo backdrop needs photo props, so we included some on our snack station including “2018” gold glitter numbers and confetti party poppers to ring in the new year right! You can plan your very own Glitter & Gold New Year’s Eve Party just like this one with the free Evite invitation below.
