Keep Your Wine Cold with this DIY Holiday Ice Bucket

Need a statement centerpiece for your holiday party? Try making this DIY holiday ice bucket for the festivities. Not only will it chill your white wine in style, but it doubles as a piece of party decor. It’s easy to customize it to suit your own style — just fill the center will your favorite seasonal fruits, flowers, herbs and more. Watch the video to see how we made ours, then get the how-to below, brought to you by Evite in partnership with Cavit wines.

Materials:

  • 1 large bucket
  • 1 small bucket (or 2-liter soda bottle)
  • Small rocks
  • Distilled water
  • Fruit
  • Herbs
  • Flowers
  • 1 bottle Cavit Pinot Grigio

Directions:

Step 1: Fill large bucket with 2-3 inches of water. Freeze for at least 2-3 hours.

Step 2: Place small bucket (or 2-liter soda bottle) in center of large bucket. If using a small bucket, add small rocks to weight down.

Step 3: Add fruit, herbs, flowers, etc. to the large bucket. Pack tightly.

Step 4: Fill large bucket with water and freeze overnight. Tip: Do not fill all the way to the top with water.

Step 5: Remove soda bottle (or small bucket).

Step 6: Remove ice bucket from large bucket.

Step 7: Place bottle of wine in center (we used Cavit Pinot Grigio). Tip: Place the finished ice bucket on a plate to prevent drips.
