Planning a backyard fiesta? With the weather warming up, you’ll want to have water on hand to keep kids refreshed and hydrated. Place the water center stage by setting up a colorful — and interactive –hydration station with these quick tips, brought to you by Nestlé® Pure Life®.
Send kids straight to the refreshments by creating a “Hydration Station” sign using this free printable. Place the printed sign in a plain white frame so it won’t fly away in the wind, then adhere to a pole or wooden dowel. Tape the pole or dowel inside an ice bucket, ice tub or cooler and alternate between filling it with ice and water bottles (we like the 8 oz. Nestlé® Pure Life® Purified Water Share-A-Smile collection). For a fun alternative, swap ice for frozen water balloons — just fill the balloons with water, seal, then freeze and place in the bucket once frozen (Pro Tip: Plan a water balloon toss after the ice has melted). Be sure to have an adult supervise the bucket if it’s filled with balloons and supervise the water balloon toss.
Next to the hydration station, set up a cart or bench with extra towels and toys. Plan an easy and safe crafting activity for kids. Download the “Craft Station” printable and place it in a plain white frame, then put out plenty of markers, paper, stickers and any other themed craft supplies– just be sure to have an adult supervise. Set out paper straws and colored napkins near the craft station so kids can sip in style and get creative.
Place a box of backyard toys (such as soccer balls, flying discs and badminton) near the hydration station to remind kids to drink up — and keep all the toys contained. Download our “Box of Fun” printable then place it in a frame and attach to an empty box or crate before you fill it with fun.
