When I think of Marie Antoinette, the last queen of France, I envision a grand palace, chandeliers, lush flower gardens, beautiful colors, jewels and lots of decadent treats. I have always wanted to throw an over-the-top Marie Antoinette-inspired party but knew that when I did, I had to go big or go home.
The party was held in my backyard and included a Tree of Mirrors (inspired by the Palace of Versailles’ Hall of Mirrors), royal portraits, a Marie Antoinette Cire Trudon candle, and many treats. My guests enjoyed macarons, cupcakes, fruit tarts, profiteroles, candy apples, “crown jewels” (which were really just pretty candies), Champagne and sparkling water with edible flower ice cubes.
