Congratulations! You’ll go to the top of the class with these A+ graduation party ideas.
Graduation Party Activities: Kick off your graduation celebration with a fun and festive photo op. Set the scene by decorating an empty wall with tassel garlands — a nod to the graduation cap tassel — to create a colorful backdrop. (Make your own DIY tassel garland or buy one at a party store.) Then set out an instant camera for guests to snap pics, or encourage guests to take pictures on their phones and share with friends and family using a custom hashtag. For even more fun with photos, download our free printable photo props.
Before guests leave, invite them to share their well wishes with the grad. We love the idea of building memories by writing on Jenga pieces. Our free printable sign provides the instructions.
Graduation Party Food: Make your life a whole lot easier by ordering a buffet from a caterer. (We went with a crowd-pleasing, effortless and delicious Qdoba Hot Taco Bar with Creamy 3-Cheese Queso — Qdoba will deliver and set up everything you need from toppings to utensils.)
Graduation Party Decorations: Go with neon colors (the future’s so bright!) or keep decor simple by sticking to the graduate’s school colors. Large Mylar number balloons commemorating the graduation year make for easy budget-friendly decorations. To keep with the graduation theme, make diploma napkins by rolling utensils in napkins and tying a ribbon around the center to resemble an old-fashioned scroll. Add a personal touch by printing out photos of the grad throughout the years and displaying them in frames, or make a simple wall hanging like the one shown below.
To create a photo wall hanging, tie fishing line to a wooden dowel (available at craft stores), and tape pictures to the fishing line. Then tie a piece of twine to either side of your wooden dowel, attach a removable adhesive hook to the wall (available at craft and hardware stores) and hang.
Graduation Party Favors: Thank your guests for attending the party with a cute, creative party favor. Say cheers to a bright future with colored chocolate candies packaged in a faux light bulb (available at party stores or online) and attaching our free “Here’s to a Bright Future!” printable favor tag.
