When life gives you lemons… throw a party? In case you haven’t noticed, lemons are the main squeeze of the summer—and we’re here for it. These little citruses are a fresh and simple way to brighten up any tablescape. Here’s how to incorporate this trendy, summer lovin’ fruit into your backyard socials, birthdays, bachelorettes, and more.

DIY LEMON BALLOONS

Want to add a pop of color to your summer tablescape? These mini lemon balloons are seriously easy peasy lemon squeezy. We created lemon balloon straws to decorate summertime refreshments (cough, lemonade), but you can also adjust this DIY for garlands, place settings, and more.

MATERIALS

  • Yellow balloons
  • Fake green leaves
  • Yellow paper straws
  • Scissors
  • Air pump (optional)

STEPS

  1. Blow up a yellow balloon to your desired size. We measured ours to about 4 inches long, so it fits in the palm of your hand.
  2. Tie the end of the balloon and the stem of your fake greenery together into a knot.
  3. Cut a hole into the tail of the balloon, below the knot.
  4. Insert a paper straw into the opening you created, and slip your lemon straws into jars as a cute topper!
